No. You can only have 1 certificate active at a time.

Q4. How long do I need to wait for my certificate to be issued?

Typically, you need to wait 3-10 days from requesting to receiving your certificate.

Q5. Can I extend the hire agreement for another year?

No. The hire agreement period cannot be changed.

Q6. If my equipment is defective during the hire agreement period, what do I need to do?

We're very confident in the quality of the manufacturer’s products and offer a standard two years warranty on a new battery a one year on a new charger.

You’ll receive the equipment with a sales receipt (order ref and date) which is your warranty document. Please quote this information whilst contacting us.

In the first instance, you'll need to contact our service department by telephone to raise a warranty case. To troubleshoot the battery or charger, we may instruct you to perform some basic electrical checks to ascertain the nature of the fault. Not charging the battery for long periods or short circuiting the output and blowing an internal fuse are common problems and are classified as battery handling faults and not covered under warranty. You will need to complete a non-conformance report and we will issue you with a returns label. We will arrange with our dangerous goods transport company to collect your battery at a convenient date/time. The battery must be re-packed and returned in the original dangerous goods approved packaging, so you will need to retain this box.

The battery shall be tested and checked using our diagnostic equipment and if its confirmed as defective, you will receive a new replacement or a repaired battery free of charge. If the battery has been used outside its specification or operated or maintained not in accordance with the manufacturer’s product manual, then we reserve the right to charge you for any repairs and out of pocket expenses.

Q7. What do I do at the end of the contact hire agreement?

You’ve 3 options

1. Continue the hire agreement by paying a small refundable deposit (certificate value < £500 is 3% and >£500 is 7%) and continue to use the equipment for 3 years. After this period, you can keep the equipment. If you don’t want the equipment, you’ll be refunded your deposit

2. Take ownership of the equipment and pay Cyclescheme 18-25% of the certificate value (HMRC requirements).

3. Return the equipment. Pay the return costs and pay no further fees.

Q8. Is there a minimum spend?

Yes. The equipment needs to be over £200.
